Yuki Inomata: Director
Yuki Inomata is a director and writer working between New York and Tokyo. Following a string of self-produced short films and music videos as well as a number of commercials, Miss Inomata directed her first feature film, “Humoresque” (“Sakashama No Chou”), starring Lina Ohta and Minami. The film was released theatrically and on dvd in Japan in 2007.
Recent years have seen Miss Inomata traveling the world extensively, directing a number of short films in Paris and elsewhere, and developing the story for her second feature “Remain In Light”. Alongside her film career Miss Inomata is an established writer in other media. Of particular note, following a successful two-year run in a Tokyo theatre, she adapted her play “Larry In A Mansion” as a manga of the same name, which was subsequently published in Japan, China, Korea and Taiwan. Miss Inomata has also written a television drama, and the screenplay for the movie “Seventeen Years Old”, starring Rinko Kikuchi (“Babel”), as well as lyrics for a variety of Japanese indie bands. Notable commercials: Michael Kors, MaxMara, Vogue Japan, Roger Vivier, Jergerns, Shiseido, 4°C, Google (arts & culture), WWD and Isetan AU.
Since 2007, Common Space has produced and directed live action, documentary and motion graphics work directly with brands, artists and entrepreneurs.
